Send the question and the deadline.

Most engagements start with two paragraphs and a date. You do not need a formal brief, a budget approved, or a clear idea of which of the five lines you need. Describe the problem and we'll tell you what it actually is.

What to send

  • The problem. In plain language. "Our funder wants a report and we don't know where to start" is a complete brief.
  • Who it's for. A funder, a board, your community, a partner, the public.
  • The date. When you need it in hand.
  • What you already have. Data, drafts, an old site, a half-finished spreadsheet. So we don't bill you to rebuild it.

What happens next

  • Reply within two business days confirming whether it's a fit and whether the date is real.
  • Written scope within three business days of that: the question, the sources, the deliverable, the date, the fixed price.
  • Work begins on signature. No retainer runs without a scope.
